Flat, quiet path always along the stream. The path is called "Gustav-Heinemann-Weg" - reason: The walk of the third Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Gustav Walter Heinemann, used to lead along the Felderbach. When he visited son Peter and grandson Robert in Nierenhof, he ran for relaxation through the Feldbachtal.

Gustav Walter Heinemann was Lord Mayor of Essen from 1946 to 1949 and Federal Minister of the Interior from 1949 to 1950. From 1966 to 1969 he was Federal Minister of Justice and from 1969 to 1974 Federal President.

Can also be cycled on the bike. But please consider: many walkers and dogs!

Sometimes it is not quite so crowded here between the Felderbach level at the Leberhof and the old weir on Fellerstrasse. Then we could enjoy the calm at the brook in the evenings. Once I saw a kingfisher over the weir.
It is usually like all the beautiful places that can be reached on foot from the next P: There are a lot of people and dogs there.

The path is close to the road and is therefore quite loud.

"... The Felderbach is a tributary of the Deilbach (which in turn flows into the Ruhr).
The individual springs are located in the very north of Wuppertal directly on the border with the city of Sprockhövel at an altitude of 310 m above sea level. NHN. After that it flows in a northerly direction for a few kilometers through the area of Sprockhövel and then through the southern part of the city of Hattingen. The last kilometers before the confluence it flows through the northeast of the city of Velbert to flow into the Deilbach at a height of 75 meters at the district Kidneyhof, which in turn flows into the Ruhr just a few kilometers further north.
The stream has a length of 12.7 kilometers. It flows through the Felderbachtal, named after him, and the so-called Elfringhauser Switzerland, a still predominantly rural, popular local recreation and hiking area between the Ruhr area and the city of Wuppertal with a few excursion restaurants.
On old maps, the Felderbach is also called Rüschenbach.
In the past, the hydropower of the Felderbach and the Pleßbach was also used to drive water wheels for several cages and grinding cabins. ... "

The small island, consisting of a single tree with strong roots, can be easily reached with a large stone in the course of the river.

A great photo point when the evening sun / late afternoon sun shines through the trees into the forest and onto the stream.

Water is just beautiful. A nice stream. If you behave accordingly, you can observe a lot of animals. Roe deer is enough. Of course you should not let the dogs off the leash!
