Hiking

The Zwarte Weg, which runs right through the Cronebos, was at the time a toll road to the Lage Vuursche. The toll booth is still there. Mrs Crone-Black donated this 39 ha. large forest to Natuurmonumenten in 1962 with the condition to change the name Tolbos to Cronebos, the name of her husband. Management is aimed at natural rejuvenation and thus as much variation as possible in trees and their undergrowth.
