The approximately 3 km circular trail takes you from the Vulkaneum to the Warte Geosite
and the Warte lookout point.
The trail leads you through the historic old town into nature and along adventurous forest paths to a former lava flow. Moss-covered relics tell of our fiery past. You will then be rewarded with a wonderful view
of the Hoherodskopf adventure mountain and Schotten, "the town on the green volcano."

At the Warte Geosite, the inner part of a thin lava flow is visible.
The pores in the rock are clearly visible. These round holes are created by the formation of gas bubbles in the lava. These bubbles rise in the lava flow and are therefore more numerous in the upper part. Because of these pores, the rock is also called Lungstein (lung stone).
The VulkanTour 2 is signposted with a red volcano.
The trail starts and ends at the Vulkaneum Schotten.
