The Pleckenbrinksee is a subsidence lake that was created in Dortmund-Wickede in autumn 2007. The lake lies within the Asseln-Wickede conservation area.
It can be completely circumnavigated on foot on quiet side streets and forest and meadow paths over a length of approx. 1.6 kilometres. At a maximum distance of 50 to 100 meters from the water, numerous aquatic animals such as geese and ducks, but also frogs, newts, dragonflies, lapwings, buntings or redstarts can be observed. You are not allowed to leave paths in the nature reserve in order not to disturb animals. It is not permitted to use the lake for games or sports.
