The evangelical town church of St. Peter and Paul was built in the middle of the 13th century as a late Romanesque basilica and later expanded in the Gothic style. The altar consecration took place in 1479. In 1520 the Marienkapelle was built on the south side of the church, which was originally open to the church and contained the baptismal font.
