In 1856, the Protestant Christians in the predominantly Catholic town of Amöneburg were assigned to the Protestant parish of Kirchhain. From 1891, the Protestant services were celebrated in the party room of the district court. The construction of the chapel began in 1897, financed by donations, funds from the consistory in Kassel and the Gustav Adolf Association. On December 5, 1897 (2nd Advent) the chapel was inaugurated. For the inauguration, Empress Auguste Viktoria donated an altar bible with a handwritten dedication.

A simple AND magnificent building at the same time. It has a charm all of its own.

Between two houses on the hillside with a beautiful view of the valley is the small evangelical chapel. It has space for about 30 visitors.
