Laces / Lacis GR 1590 m above sea level M. in the upper valley of the Albula
An episcopal farm was first mentioned in Latsch in 1154 as Lacis. The settlement grew along an alley with junctions as a pure street village and may have already reached its present size around 1500. In 1523 the chapel of St. Nicholas was built and in 1590 the Reformation was introduced. In 1891 the construction of a road to Bergün began. Ambiguities about the exact course of the border with the municipality of Bergün/Bravuogn led to Latsch merging with the neighboring municipality in 1912. In 1983 the village consisted of 30 farms, of which only three were managed.

Location for the Heidi films in 1952 and 2014.
Incidentally, the little mountain village of Latsch, enthroned above Bergün, was the setting for the Heidi films in 1952 and 2014.

Laces lies on a hillside above Bergün and is remarkably well preserved in its traditional building structure. Therefore, it served as a film backdrop for the Heidi films, the original film of 1952 and for the remake of 2015 with Bruno Ganz as Alm-Öhi.
