Stone Archway in Rabensteiner Wald

A relic from the past.
At the eastern end of Grüna, in the Rabenstein Forest, about 100 m east of the “Am Wald” old people’s and nursing home, there is a stone gate that is about 100 years old and partly dilapidated.
The gate is located on a path marked "Schneise" in an old field map, which comes from the north and leads south after a fork to Riedstraße and the end of Dorfstraße in Grüna. It stands on the edge of a forest that was bought from the royal Rabenstein forest administration in 1905 by the management of the "Bad Grüna" GmbH sanatorium (see map). The entrance of the gate points in the direction of the old people's and nursing home. So far, the gate standing near the former "Bad Grüna" sanatorium could not be found and identified in older maps. It was also not known when and by whom it was built....
