On the edge of the former Fasanerie of Schloss Callenberg, in the Weihersholz, is located on a now overgrown forest clearing of 1846 created dog cemetery. There, until 1896, six favorite dogs of Duke Ernest II were buried and the graves were provided with inscription stones, which testify to the duke's affection for his hunting companions. As an example served the then prominent dog cemetery in Hyde Park in London.
