Remains of an old Civil Guard post that was built after the Civil War (1936 - 1939) to monitor the entire mountain range, where the members of the Granada-Málaga Guerrilla Group that was fighting against the Franco regime were hiding, it is say, the maquis. With the aim of putting an end to its activity and also catching the black marketeers who tried to pass from Granada to Malaga or vice versa through the Port of Cómpeta, the Civil Guard built this post in this strategic place. The last episodes of armed activity by the maquis in this area occurred in 1951.
