A trip with lots of great impressions over the Rennsteig is always worth it.
June 30, 2020
There are around 1300 historical boundary stones along the Rennsteig. Since the 16th century, the Rennsteig, which was mainly a border trail, has been marked with these political symbols. Particularly noteworthy are the 13 Dreiherrensteine, of which only ten are directly on the Rennsteig. In the vernacular, the name Rennsteigstein arose for these boundary stones. Most of the boundary stones still in existence date from the 18th century.
