Villa built in 1930 in a mixed Art Deco and neo-Norman style.
It stands on the site of the former neo-Louis XIII style castle of the Dufresne family. It was completely destroyed in 1918.
The villa is now a residence for writers. Stefan Hertmans was selected as the first Belgian writer in residence. Anne Provoost stayed at Villa Marguerite Yourcenar from 2 to 29 March 2012.
A long banner on the façade lists the names of all the authors who have resided here since 1997.
