The wooden figure is based on a legend: a knight, who loved the daughter of the castle captain of Castle Eisenhardt, had thrown himself to death from the castle because of the pain of love. As a result, the beloved damsel passed out, developed nervous fever and also died.
A century later, her ghost appeared to a shoemaker as a white woman in the pale moonlight, which soon became the talk of the town.
