You have to experience it yourself, it cannot be described as it really is. A beautiful dune landscape through which you can hike here. First you cross a small birch forest before you hike over the numerous dunes until you come to a rustic pine forest. With a lot of luck you can see deer and wild horses.

Know that you are a guest here in this beautiful landscape. Respect, deer, fallow deer and wild Shetland ponies roam the dune area.
Large areas of dunes have never been fully planted and here you will find herbs and flowers such as dune violets, ragwort and heron's bill. Water has been extracted in this beautiful landscape for a long time. Initially, the groundwater was pumped up, but when the dune dried out and nature started to suffer, water from the Haringvliet was pumped into the dune area. This still happens. The three large lakes in the area are water extraction sites. A pleasure to see how nature takes its course here. Dragonflies, seagulls, ducks, geese and grebes are the regular visitors to these places.

Here the path leads through the dune landscape in front of Burgh-Haamstede. There are mostly deep sandy paths, so that you can take a leisurely stroll. If you are lucky, you will meet the animals living here (horses, cows and geese) which you should not get closer than 25m. At the beginning of the path there is a lookout point from where you have a good view of the area.
