Hiking

Transition area from the dunes to the polders. Very varied nature reserve. Dogs are not allowed here. There are Shetlanders, cows and Exmoor ponies. In the past, the vroon soils were used by farmers. It was barren ground. In order to still be able to farm, plots were divided into narrow strips separated by alder. The leaves provided fertilizer. And held back the drifting sand. They are called Elzemetes.
