A popular meeting place with a large parking lot just steps away from the Knopfmacherfelsen (button maker rock). Before starting a hike, you can use the restroom and enjoy a good meal at the end. There is no closing day. A little about the history of the house:
One day, when the Stuttgart architect Karl Schill was visiting his fistball teammate and then mayor of Fridingen, he discovered the beautiful viewpoint at the Knopfmacherfelsen (button maker rock). The idea of building a café-restaurant there was immediately born. He quickly designed and built it, and it opened on May 15, 1959.

In April 1981, the Knopfmacher mountain lodge was taken over by his son Reiner Schill. On May 17, 2019, the 60th anniversary was celebrated.

We, Tobias (Reiner's son) and Katia, have been running the Knopfmacher mountain lodge since 2011, in the third generation, in the spirit of Karl and Reiner. We are supported by our sons Dennis and Jannik Schill.
