The rectangular fieldstone building dates from the 13th century.
The church has been redesigned several times; the interior design dates from the Baroque period (pulpit altar and patron's pew, in which the Kalebuz family sat during the service - including the knight in question); the four consecration crosses indicate side altars from the time before the Reformation. The sundial on the Gothic south door of the church is noteworthy. It is said to be one of the oldest sundials in all of Germany.
