    Museum Pastor Künzle, Vilters
Since November 2019 there has been a museum about the herb pastor Johann Künzle in the vicarage in Vilters.
Born September 3, 1857, the 12th and youngest child. Ordained a priest in St. Gallen in 1881. From 1909 to 1920 he worked in Wangs, after which he moved to Zizers. In 1945 he died in Zizers and was buried in Wangs according to his wishes.
He was not only a pastor and writer but also a "herbal scientist", for example in 1911 he wrote the book: "Chrut and Uchrut" and later a well-known work: "The Big Herbal Book".
A visit to Vilters is highly recommended and definitely worth it.

      Herb Pastor Künzle
Probably the most famous Wangser, Johann Künzle, was born on September 3, 1857 in St. Gallen. He served as pastor in Wangs from 1909 to 1920. On November 24, 1912, the local residents of Wangs granted the down-to-earth, uncomplicated pastor honorary citizenship.
The Pastor Künzle Association was founded on November 11th, 2005 to make the life and work of Johann Künzle better known in our area. This association will set itself the task of publishing the knowledge about the herbs and the life of Pastor Künzle and making various locations (e.g. southern ports, bathing room in the former Fatima) accessible to the public. The Pfarrer Künzle Weg (themed circular walk) opened in the summer of 2006 begins at the town hall in Wangs. It leads over the ravine, grotto, over the Rappagugg, Vilterser Kiesfang, Wangser Kiesfang, Schigg, Friedhof and back to Wang's town hall. A museum is also planned.
The association already has 180 members. A big success. Other active members, passive members or patrons are welcome. We are looking for objects, books, writings and anecdotes as well as events by and with Pastor Künzle.
