If you cross the Oder on the city bridge, you get from Frankfurt (Oder) to Słubice (and back); the Rondo Solidarności (roundabout) as a one-way gateway from which all (larger) roads branch off into what is now the urban area of Słubice; the same was until 1945 as Dammvorstadt or Gartenstadt a district of Frankfurt (Oder) and was only developed into an independent (Polish) city in the following years;
