Windmill 't Haantje in Weesp is a tipping mill. The combination is something very special. There are only two or three of them left. This makes Molen 't Haantje a very special mill. Before the mill turned in Weesp in 1828, it stood in Amsterdam for over two hundred years. Every year, Molen 't Haantje is open to visitors on Windmill Day (always on the 2nd Saturday in May) and Open Monument Day (on the 2nd Saturday in September).

To the right of the mill is Villa Casparus (nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_Casparus). A comparable building was located on the opposite side of the river on the Prins Bernhaardlaan. This was the former office building of the Van Houten company (vanhoutenchocolates.com/vanhouten/vanhouten/en_ph/about.html), behind which was the warehouse and production facility. The building was very dilapidated and was completely demolished. The cocoa beans were delivered via the river Smal Weesp. A resident of the street told me that objects from the 16th century are still being found there.
