The Church of Ayios Ioannis was built in the 12th/13th Built in the 13th century, possibly on the site of a 6th-century early Christian basilica. It belongs to the architectural type of the cross-square church. Two rows of columns divide the church into three naves, which end in three apses at the eastern end. The three-sided central apse protrudes from the outer wall.

The knight's seat, built later to the north of the church, is connected to the church by a door set into the wall of the narthex.

The Acropolis of Lindos is an ancient ruin site on the Greek island of Rhodes, which combines an ancient temple complex with a medieval knight's castle. It towers on a 116-meter-high cliff rock directly above the picturesque white village of Lindos. The most important in brief: Known for the Temple of Athena Lindia (4th century BC) and the monumental colonnade (stoa). Enclosed by the massive fortifications of the Knights Hospitaller from the 14th century.
