The Sainte-Foy church, whose architecture is more reminiscent of Lorraine and Burgundy than Rhenish Romanesque, is an important part of the Romanesque route in Alsace and one of the oldest buildings in the city.
The three-towered Romanesque church is all that remains of an earlier priory that belonged to the Benedictine abbey of Sainte-Foy in Conques.
