With the start of the iron ore boom in 1907, the Louise union began building the Weickartshain ore washing plant in Seenbrücke.
In 1908, ore was mined in the newly created Weickartshain pit to supply ore for this wash.
Ore mining began about 600 meters from the washing station and was brought almost to the washing building in the course of exploitation.
The traces of opencast mining can still be clearly seen on the embankments between the buildings at Seenbrücke.
