Namur City Hall is located at no. 42 rue de Fer. After the destruction of the town hall located on the current Place d'Armes during the First World War, the municipal authorities moved into a private mansion on rue de Fer, the Kegeljan hotel. In 1981, 4 years after the merger of the municipalities in Belgium, there was no space and a larger building was added to the previous one. Between 1997 and 2001, the building was restored and the Jardins du Maïeurs were created. Finally, in 2008, a wing reserved for aldermen was created.
