From the former mill - the mill wheel can still be seen on the outer wall of the building - a section of the path begins that can be described without exaggeration as "wildly romantic". Perhaps an old-fashioned word that some may consider kitschy, but in my view it is absolutely accurate.

The nature reserve includes the nearly four-kilometer-long valley of the Kupfersiefer Bach from its source near Schlehecken to its confluence with the Sülz near Menzlingen, including a larger and a few smaller side sieves. On the accompanying hillside forests, mixed beech forests with acidic soil stand with partly mature wood and a well-developed shrub layer. The slopes in the upper reaches are often overgrown with meager grassland. Extensively used or fallow wet and moist grassland can be found in the floodplain. The area surrounding the nature reserve is intensively farmed. Therefore, the area represents a valuable deciduous forest relict, which is little disturbed by traffic and settlement. The structurally rich mixed beech forest and the near-natural stream are a retreat for typical life forms of the primeval landscape of the natural area.
