The Anzenberg is a basalt cone 593 m above sea level. NN and is located two kilometers east of Kemnath on the B 22 Kemnath-Schönreuth in the district Tirschenreuth. It belongs to the tertiary volcanoes of the northern Upper Palatinate and consists of a Schlotbrekzie. A cross adorns the pointed rock group called Anzenstein on the rocky summit. Only the summit is made of tertiary basalt rock, the rest of the mountain from Benker sandstone. The basalt shreds contain much olivine and augite crystal.
