Like the pheasantry, the orangery was also built between 1727 and 1734 in the north-western part of the castle park according to plans by J. C. Schlaun. Then as now, the flat gable on the south side is adorned with the alliance coat of arms of Ferdinand v. Plettenberg under the count's crown and chain of the Golden Fleece.
