The Max Valier Observatory and the Peter Anich Sun Observatory are located directly on the Path of the Stars, which connects the two star villages of Gummer and Steinegg. Here you can enjoy a unique view and stop off at the nearby Untereggerhof.

In the evening, exciting guided tours are offered here several times a week. Find out more at the various information offices in the Eggental.

The "Max Valier" Observatory is an EU Millennium Project for the year 2000. Initial planning began earlier, so construction began in June 2000. The official opening took place two years later.

The cost of €500,000 was covered 90% by the South Tyrolean provincial government and 10% by the South Tyrolean Savings Bank Foundation.

The observatory is managed by the Max Valier Amateur Astronomers Association on behalf of the municipality of Cornedo di Cornedo. Source: sternwarte.it/geschichte

The observatory was named after the South Tyrolean space pioneer Max Valier. The Peter Anich solar observatory is also located slightly below. A place worth seeing with a beautiful view.
