The castle, once the mansion of the patrician Holzschuher family, became the headquarters of the Hoffmann military sports group for a few years in 1974 and has been used as a cultural meeting place since 1976.The remains of the former Praun'sche manor house (Irrhainstrasse) are still there, partially moved.
