Lambrecht weather column in Sils Maria: "Sils has a long tradition of operating a climatological measuring station. A measuring station was put into operation in 1863 and the systematic measurement of meteorological parameters began. This makes the series of measurements in Sils one of the longest in the entire Alpine region and is of great value for observing climate development.
