Eckernförde consists of a long coastline with a fine sandy beach, which is reliably supplied with supplies from the Altenhofer cliffs and the current. The old town, which was last devastated during the great storm surge of 1872, is built on a spit. The beach, the harbor and the vibrant city center are just a stone's throw away - just like in hardly any other city. The situation alone is not, you also made a lot of it. Through careful urban development and an extremely busy construction activity, the advantages are even more pronounced.shz.de/regionales/schleswig-holstein/sh-tour/ausflugstipps/ostseekueste/zehn-tipps-fuer-einen-schoenen-tag-in-eckernfoerde-id6296226.html

The old town with its narrow streets and restored fisherman's houses is located between the harbor and the beach. The Rathausmarkt, the cultural center of the city, has largely been preserved in its buildings after the Second World War and offers a historical backdrop for the weekly market and other events. Kieler Straße became a pedestrian zone. In the old town there are many attractions to discover.
