Divided in half, the Escher Lake offers south-sea flair and a rustic nature experience in the north of Cologne. While the northern half of the lake is dedicated to bathing fun, the southern half is reserved for nature conservation.

Active nature lovers can take a walk around the lake for a walk.

For Badenixen and sunbathers, the 2007 renovated Sundown Beach right on the lake offers 5000 tons of the finest sandy beach and a unique South Sea feeling in the middle of the Rhineland. Covering an area of 30,000 square meters, the Beach Club in the north of Cologne attracts with a swimmer and non-swimmer area, as well as gastronomic offers from Mediterranean to regional delicacies, a cocktail bar, breathtaking sunsets and the latest summer beats.

In the southern part of the lake, nature lovers and animal experts get their money's worth while observing the species-rich biotope diversity. After completion of the graveling valuable habitats for animals and plants have emerged here, especially for amphibians, aquatic insects and waterfowl, which find their optimal living conditions in the steep slopes, bank areas, and coarse gravel. To ensure their undisturbed development, the access to the lake was fenced. Anyone who would like to experience the lake in its naturalness, however, has the opportunity to see the entire lake over two observation cockpits. One of the lookout pulpit is on Escher Strasse, the other on the west side of the lake.
