In winter you will see large concentrations of winter birds in the Oude Kalevallei, especially in the Zuurhoek sub-area. There you will also find a bird watching hut. Groups of hundreds of tufted ducks and wigeons are no exception, with the occasional goldeneye, duck or merganser.
