In 1717, the then mayor of Aachen, Kaspar Deltours, acquired 185 acres of land in the extreme tip of the Brander Heide from the Kornelimünster Abbey and built Gut Deltourserb or Löwenberger Gut.
From here on the small hill you have a great all-round view and unfortunately a view of the somewhat disturbing A44.
