Already in 1780 Goethe enjoyed the beauty, the natural wealth and the idyll of the Thuringian Forest.
To this day, this part of Germany boasts one of the largest contiguous forest areas in Europe with an extensive network of hiking trails of more than 6,000 kilometers.
