Marble relief "Wolf, Sheep and Bear", Stephan Horota, 2007
"Food comes first, then morality." The sentence comes from Bertolt Brecht's "The Threepenny Opera" (1928). - He meant: You can only think about ethical questions when your stomach is full.

The marble figural group entitled "First Comes Food, Then Morality," created in 2007 by Stefan Horota, is located in Anton Saefkow Park on a lawn near Greifswalder Straße. With his relief, the artist interpreted a well-known phrase from the "Ballad on the Question: What Does Man Live By?" from Bertolt Brecht's "Threepenny Opera" (1928). He transferred the content to the world of fables. By depicting anthropomorphized animals, Horota created a humorous work that is quite characteristic of his work.
