Former "Castle Wulfsdonk", later "Zamans Castle", now country residence of Count R. Lippens in a rural castle park with a pond, remains of the former moats and associated lanes, including this northern access lane departing from the Moervaart and further called Etbosdreef.
The history of this castle estate goes back to the first half of the 13th century, when it was founded as a mining center by the Ghent Sint-Baafsabdij.
The original castle was rebuilt after destruction around 1550. In the middle of the 19th century it was completely demolished to build a completely new castle in neoclassical style in 1864.
That castle was in turn completely demolished in 1962 (except for the vaulted cellars) and replaced by the current manor house.
A wolf's head can be seen above the front door, a reference to the old castle name.
