Here the church community has erected a place of remembrance for the war victims and carelessly integrated the stone crosses and left them to the vegetation. (Baltes 07/2013) Both stone crosses were around 1900 a few meters further west on the village square. In 1928 they were erected at the present location. "In Suessenborn, on the public square in front of the church, around 1900 there were 3 atonement crosses."; one of them had been missing since around 1910 (letter from custodian A. Möller to the Advice Center for Homeland Security dated September 21, 1923, Weimar State Archives, no. 1374).
