The Insugherata Nature Reserve extends between the Via Cassia and the Via Trionfale, in the area of Nero's tomb. It is a protected natural area in the heart of the Municipality of Rome which owes its name to the presence of numerous cork trees. Walking along its paths you can meet various mammals including foxes, porcupines, badgers, wild boars, as well as many species of birds such as the bee-eater, the hoopoe, the kestrel, the great spotted woodpecker and the cuckoo.

A wild park inside the wonderful city of Rome does not even seem to be in the city you can enter from several points, the simplest are either from Monte Mario alto (Via della Rimessola) or from Via Cassia as shown in the photo: attention that it looks like a private gate! Good rides in the green!

the reserve is very beautiful. It's a shame that it is very neglected and some paths are full of brambles, difficult and not for everyone
