Neulietzegöricke is the oldest of a series of colonist villages in the Oderbruch (all villages with "Neu" in their name), which was founded by Frederick II of Prussia in 1753 after it had been drained. Laid out as a street village, the numerous (half-timbered) houses worth seeing - primarily day laborers and farmhouses - are grouped along two parallel streets, separated by the central shaft ditch. The church, the inn and the former school are located in the middle of the village. The village ensemble is now a listed building.
