The levada on the Rocha Vermelha is best reached via the forester's lodge at the 25 Fontes and the corresponding hike. Fairly difficult ascent and descent compared to other tours on Madeira but no problem with a little stamina and experience. The tour is very nice, little committed, partly the paths are also spilled but walkable. Good hiking shoes should be. Many variants possible to ascend again. A coffee in the forester's house afterwards is also worthwhile. From noon on, the sun shines nicely on the Levada!

Anyone who comes out of the long and very wet Saixal Tunnel is either wet down to their underpants or has previously completely dressed in a rain jacket and rain pants. I had both in my backpack. You're always smarter afterwards.
After the tunnel, pure evening heat is announced, only for absolutely free from giddiness with good mountain boots!
I came from Encumeada Pass that day. This is one of the most ingenious tours on Madeira for everyone who loves the controlled adventure!
