There are no records of the formation of the chapel on the Frauenberg. It was probably donated by Georg Rauh, a textile and hops dealer from Neuhaus. Before and during the war, many women from Hartenstein went to her chapel to pray, especially for their husbands, sons, brothers and friends who were away at war. The chapel was extensively restored and reopened on August 1, 2004.
