Built in 1750 as a wind pump to supply the adjacent graduation tower with brine. During the spa period, spa guests could get the medicinal water there. It was named after the Prussian King Friedrich II.

Very nice park, even if there is hardly anything left of the salt works.
But the round windpump tower on Friedrichsborn is worth seeing.

Water containing brine was already produced in Königsborn in the Middle Ages. The Königsborn Saline was founded as a state institution in 1734. This marked the beginning of the expansion of brine production into Westphalia's most important saltworks. The wind pumping station built in 1750 with the associated pump attendant's house has been preserved. The blades of the wind turbine were removed before 1925. Source: architecture image archive. de
