The De Duinen estate, like the Vosbergen, was created in 1811 when parts of Lemferdinge were sold. The name fits the hilly character of the terrain.
In the 18th century there was already mention of 'De Duinekamp' near Lemferdinge. The house 'Huis de Duinen' was built in 1824 in the middle of an avenue.
