Hiking

There have already been several tree planting campaigns under the title "Rooted in Sontra" in the city forest on the 1.6 hectare piece of woodland that has been plagued by drought and bark beetle infestation and has since been cleared. The project was named "Edmund Tümmel Klimawald" by the city of Sontra in honor of the long-standing district forester who died in an accident in 2021. Tümmel has repeatedly demonstrated his extraordinary commitment to climate protection in countless campaigns, including with the Adam von Trott School and the kindergartens.
