The castle museum is stunning. After all, Ziesar was the center of Brandenburg in the Middle Ages, the seat of an archbishop, and to this day the only surviving building, and as far as the chapel is concerned, unchanged over the centuries. Even the elaborate interior paintings have survived for 700 years. The museum is simply enormous for such a small town, and the information is presented with great professionalism. The permanent exhibition on the Ziesar late impressionist Otto Altenkirch is particularly worth seeing.
