In 1152 the construction of the first church in Karow begins on the site of today's church; it lasted 40 years.

After the purchase of the Karow estate, Obermarschall von Printzen received patronage over the Karow Church from Prussian King Friedrich I. Von Printzen continued the construction of a church in the Italian Baroque style, which had begun in 1703. This was consecrated in 1712. One of the bronze bells dates back to 1583.

The crypt, accessible from the outside, is located under the pulpit altar. This is where the von Printzen family's sarcophagi stand.

Today Karow is a district of the unified municipality of Jerichow.
