The Pfälzer Weinsteig is my absolute dream as a stage hiker and sparkling Riesling friend -plaice- in equal measure.

This popular hiking route stretches for about 170 kilometers along scenic Wingerten vineyards, wine villages and rolling hills the Palatinate Forest is famous for. Add to that a unique combination of natural beauty, historical heritage and culinary temptation.

As you explore the route, you will be surrounded by endless vineyards that stretch to the horizon on gentle slopes. Not only is this sight aesthetically pleasing, but it also reminds you that you are in one of Germany's most renowned wine regions, "The Palatinate"!

The Palatinate Wine Trail offers a varied landscape, from rolling hills and idyllic valleys to impressive rock formations and dense forests. You will be rewarded with wonderful panoramic views that go far beyond the vineyards - from the Odenwald to the Black Forest - revealing the whole beauty of the entire region.

Another highlight of the Palatinate Wine Trail is the excellent hut infrastructure for hikers.
