About Frank Slowfoot

Small park with a historical background. There are several WWII anti-aircraft gun emplacements there. There is now a small star observatory at Punta Falcone.
The paths are well laid out and well maintained. Several viewpoints at the said gun positions with benches. The view over to the offshore islands (Elba in particular) is terrific.
A little caution is required if you want to take the beaten path down to the "Calas" with bathing facilities. Sturdy shoes and bathing shoes are required. But you will be rewarded with great underwater rock formations.
For my part, I just decided to add something above for a while. Watching a cormorant diving was one of my highlights.

The tour was actually planned differently. Over the saddle above La Lama over to the iris fields of Caspri. The hiking trails are pretty wild, a machete would have helped me in places. Because of the heat, I decided to change the tour to the current one. No less beautiful, especially since you rarely meet anyone there. If you have made the steep ascent on the sometimes difficult path to the saddle above La Lama, you will be rewarded. If you want, you can now go down towards Caspri to admire said iris fields (in May / June). However, in order to get back to my accommodation, I decided to go back.
Please be careful: The last 500 meters to the road that leads to the "Poggio Montrago" are difficult because it is very steep and overgrown. If you are in a better condition than me, you can also go directly over the Poggio Montrago. You now follow the road for a good part. It's steep and didn't do my knees any good. A detour to the “Poggio agil Incisi” is also possible, but I saved it.

Small round tour around our vacation domicile. I switched on the navigation a bit late, so the starting point is not directly at our house.
Beautiful and above all varied hiking trail. The splendor of flowers in May, the scents, the singing of the birds ... incomparable.

Nice round trip over the Nollenkopf. If you want, you can extend the tour over the Hohe Loog.

Nice winter hike done. The detour to the south (at about 700 m) is not recommended, as the path is closed by an electric fence at almost 2 km. You should definitely consider this when planning.

Just enjoyed the great winter weather. The little Kalmit lies wonderfully. The all-round view in all directions is great. If you are interested in the subject of viticulture, we recommend the small educational wine trail.
