The miners' prayer house is the only one of its kind in the Ruhr area.
Quietly located. Beautiful garden.

The miners' prayer house from 1830 was once a meeting place for miners from the Muttental mines. It also served as a blacksmith's shop, where the miners had their gear (tools) made and repaired. The listed building is the last of its kind in the Ruhr area.

Anyone who takes this tour should definitely visit the miners' prayer house!!!
and also take a break at this location.
If you are traveling on the Ruhr Valley cycle path, after the Ruhr Valley ferry, turn off at Zeche Nachtigall into Muttental, this is the cradle of mining in the Ruhr area.
The historic building, which is a listed building, was built in 1830.
It is the last building of its kind in the Ruhr area. The miners' prayer house was once a meeting place for the Mutteltal mines.
Here the miners met to worship before entering the Muttental mines in order to secure divine protection from the dangerous work.
Common prayer for an accident-free shift.
